How our contest policy keeps voting in the audience’s hands

We help contest entries reach people through advertising, creators and consent-based outreach. We do not take over the act of voting, and we will not accept a plan that asks us to.

In shortBrand Community’s contest policy sets a clear boundary: we promote entries, but never cast or purchase votes. Clients get a review of proposed channels, visible source checks and plain reporting on the work completed. We confirm the approach before any campaign begins, using paid advertising, creator outreach or messages to audiences who have agreed to hear from you.

Promotion reaches people; it never casts a ballot

Our role is to put an entry in front of an appropriate audience; the decision to vote belongs to each person. We do not use bots, scripts, fake accounts or click farms, and we do not buy votes, followers or engagement. We also turn down requests to work around a voting limit or protection step.

A white-hat plan can include ads placed through a platform’s own ad system, campaign creative, disclosed creator placements, or outreach to communities and contact lists that welcome the message. We can help explain the voting steps so interested supporters know what the contest asks them to do. We do not ask them to take extra steps to multiply their influence.

Before choosing a channel, we check the contest rules and the entry format. If outside promotion is allowed, we can shape a plan around the audience and the available routes. If the rules forbid it, we will not try to disguise promotion as something else. Our contest marketing overview describes the broader set of ways we can support an entry.

A useful client check is straightforward: could you comfortably explain the promotion to the organizer and show what we did? If not, that tactic does not belong in the plan.

What can we inspect to understand where attention came from?

We review evidence that the client can see, rather than claiming to certify every person reached. The aim is to connect campaign activity to its source and be clear about what the available information can—and cannot—show.

For paid advertising, we use the platform’s campaign reporting to review items such as spend, impressions and clicks. For creator placements, we ask to review audience information the creator can share from their own analytics, then consider whether it fits the contest’s intended audience. We can arrange creator outreach for contests when that channel makes sense.

Tracking links can help distinguish visits from different campaign sources. We compare those visits with the contest page or public entry counter when that information is available. If the voting page does not show whether a visit became a completed vote, we say so; we do not fill the gap with an estimate presented as fact. The promotion methodology explains how we report these signals.

Before launch, ask to see the proposed channels, the tracking approach and an example of the information you will receive. During the campaign, keep the public entry page and any available platform analytics accessible to the people reviewing the work. This makes it easier to discuss what is visible without overstating what a report proves.

What do we explain before a contest campaign goes ahead?

We explain the proposed work, its boundaries and the information we will use to report on it before promotion begins. That gives the client a chance to check the plan against the contest rules and decide whether the channels fit.

We ask for the contest rules, entry link, closing details and any voting instructions supporters must follow. If voting uses email confirmation, registration, a captcha or a daily limit, we include those steps in the message plan. We do not help anyone bypass them. Our contest rules and risk check can help you identify the questions to resolve before choosing a channel.

In the written plan, we distinguish agreed work from outcomes that remain the audience’s choice. We do not promise a win, a vote count, a ranking or a result. The organizer controls contest decisions, and platform reporting may not show whether each visit completed a vote; those limits are specific to how an entry is reviewed and tracked.

If a proposed tactic conflicts with the rules, we will explain the concern and decline that work rather than quietly changing its label. Send us the contest link and rules through the free contest analysis; we’ll review the proposed promotion and tell you what can proceed.

Frequently asked questions

Can you make sure every person who sees an ad is eligible to vote?

No. We can review the audience choices available in the ad system and compare them with the contest’s stated audience, but an ad view does not confirm a person’s eligibility or voting choice. We’ll describe what the campaign settings and reports show, without presenting them as proof of individual eligibility.

What do you do if voting requires an email link or a daily reminder?

We explain the required steps in the campaign message and keep reminders consistent with the contest rules. If there is a daily limit, we make that limit clear. We never suggest that supporters use extra accounts, devices or other workarounds.

Can you tell whether an ad visit became a completed vote?

Only when the contest page or its reporting provides information that connects the visit to a completed vote. We can use tracking links and compare available figures, then label any gap plainly. If the page does not expose completion data, we report visits as visits rather than claiming they became votes.

What should I share for a review of my contest promotion?

Send the contest link, its rules, your entry page and the voting instructions. Include any channel you are considering and the audience you hope to reach. We’ll check whether outside promotion is allowed and identify the information needed to discuss a suitable plan.
